Dire Wolf
A dire wolf is a dire version of a grey wolf. They are encountered individually, or in packs of between five and eight creatures. They are found in any non-aquatic or non-desert environment. Dire wolves are a larger breed of normal wolves; existing in a more primitive form. They are the size of horses and far more aggressive than normal wolves, often attacking humanoids and their settlements when hungry. Grey or black in colour, dire wolves are about eight feet (2.4m) long, and weigh around 700lb (318kg). They have a good sense of smell. They also are good listeners, and their bodies have adapted to be easily hidden and quiet. Their eyes are slightly stronger than those of humans. Dire wolves fight in packs, surrounding a foe, and flanking it to gain the upper hand. Their only attack is their bite, but they are quite capable of pulling enemies to the floor once they have bitten hold of them.

Fairy (Fey)

Fey are creatures from the Feywild, a parallel plane to The World. Many are typified as having supernatural abilities and a connection to nature or to some other force or place. Fae, or faeries, as many like to be called, are creatures of any size, shape, texture or smell, that exemplify and inhabit natural wonder. They go by many names, like "Green Folk", "Fair Folk", "People of Peace", sometimes "Wee folk". There are many, many different species of fey and the term "fey" seems to simply mean any creature whose origins are tied to the Feywild. It is rumored that Faerun come from the Feywild as well, so these creatures response quite well to the Faerun as well as the High Elves and Sylvan Elves. They run the spectrum of personalities, much like people and can be good, mischievous, evil and everything in between. They are more than happy to reward those who are deserving and punish those who are not.

Gnome

Gnomes, or the Forgotten Folk as they are sometimes known, are small fey humanoids known for their eccentric sense of humor, inquisitiveness and engineering prowess. Having had few overt influences on the world’s history but many small and unseen ones, gnomes are often overlooked by the powers that be despite their craftiness and affinity for illusion magic. Gnomes are very small compared to most other races and, with an average height ranging between 3'0" and 3'6" and a weight range of 40 to 45 lbs, gnomes are generally larger and heavier than halflings, though forest gnomes (ranging between 2'1" and 2'10" in height and 21-35 lbs in weight) tend to be smaller than the halflings, leading some scholars to erroneously classify all gnomish races as "smaller than the Hin". However, while halflings are commonly said to resemble short humans, gnomes are more comparable with Evlves, with whom they share pointed ears and high cheekbones, or even Dwarves, who they are compared to due to their tendency to grow beards and live underground. Many gnomes have a more feral appearance than either, however, with hair that often sprouts from their heads in odd directions. The skin of gnomes runs in hue from reddish tans to earthy browns or even shades of gray, with exact hue somewhat dependent upon the ethnic origin of a gnome. Similarly, gnomish hair varies wildly in color from blond and brown to more exotic colors like white, orange, or even green. Gnomish eyes are often, particularly in individuals who are native to the Feywild, glittering black or blue although more natural eye colors are also known to the race.

Ogre
Ogres are a race of giant-kin commonly mistaken for oni. Ogres are giant brutish humanoids that delight in brutality, rape, savagery, and torture. They revel in inflicting misery on others. They are considered bastards by the other giant races except for trolls. They stand between 9 and 10-feet tall and can weigh up to 650 lbs. They tend to be lazy and brutish, preferring to rely on ambush and overwhelming numbers in battle. Ogres often work as mercenaries, hoping for easy plunder. Ogres appear as giant humanoids with very muscular bodies, large heads, and a voracious appetite. They love to feed on humans; especially young children. This savage nature often leads ogres to become the minions of evil beings, such as hags.

Pegasus
Pegasi are a breed of magical beasts that, at first glance, resemble mere horses with large bird-like wings. Despite this, they have other avian features as well, their lower legs are feathered instead of furred and their manes and tails are also of feathers. They most commonly live in temperate forests and are incapable of speaking common. Being wild and shy magical creatures, pegasi are not easily tamed. The most common way they are trained is after being raised from birth though sometimes a grown pegasus may be tamed, with a friendly attitude to the tamer, making a worthy steed indeed. Being goodly creatures, they will only serve good or neutral riders with an absolute faithfulness for life. Along with their physical attributes, pegasi are also like birds in that they lay eggs rather than giving birth to live young. A pegasus will mature at the same rate as a horse, however, and have somewhat similar habits. A pegasus will serve as an aerial steed to a good natured humanoid.

Pixies
Pixies were a race native to Feywild, sharing a bond with Fairies and the Faerun. Many pixies enjoyed wearing bright colored clothing. They usually measured 2.5 ft (0.8 m) in height. Pixies were usually bold, funny and curious. They did not know fear, and sometimes it put them in situations of life and death. These fey had good relations with the other races, but often ended up earning the hatred of someone with a short temper, because they did not know the right time to say what they thought. They generally appear as little humanoid creatures, however these are the minority and they are the most bold. Most pixies appear as slight insect or plantlike.

Imps
Imps are vicious, manipulative fiends that make up the least powerful ranks of the infernal legions. An imp is a minor devil. They serve as tempters and lackeys to mortals whom devils want groomed to the side of evil. Imps delight in the opportunity to leave Hell and tempt a mortal to evil. Many evil spellcasters can be found with an imp in their company, serving as a “familiar.” Although they can alter their form into that of any tiny animal, an imp normally appears as a tiny, red-skinned humanoid with a pair of black wings and a long tail ending in a poisonous stinger, containing a deadly poison. An imp stands about 2 feet tall and weighs only 8 pounds. Imps frequently act as manipulators in mortal lands, tempting the greedy, gullible or foolish into Lawful Evil acts so as to corrupt them, ensuring a continuous supply of souls for their lords in the Nine Hells. While physically weak compared to some lesser Devil forms (those lower down the form hierarchy), lower Devils relish the chance to be promoted to Imp because successfully tempting mortals into evil is one of the surest paths to further promotions.

Quicklings

Quicklings are a rare breed of Fey that were once like any other Fey, but they sought out dark and powerful magic. It is unknown whether they sought the power for altruistic purposes or not, but it is known that the power corrupted them entirely. They became savage hunters who were particularly cruel in their methods of killing. They hate humanoids of all kinds and wish nothing more than to kill them all. They are exceptionally adept ventriloquists, used in fooling others into traps or other dangerous situations. Quicklings seek out dark and evil places and live in a clan structure with their extended families. They favour poisoned or corrupted natural dwellings such as twisted groves of trees, poisoned, cursed or diseased springs or lands once ruled over by chaotic beings that have become overgrown. They avoid outside contact unless it helps them to promote their own evil desires such as contacting evil outsiders or wizards to offer their services as trackers and assassins.

Unicorns
Unicorns exist to protect forests and woodlands. They dwell deep within their forests, and shun most creatures, only conferring with fey such as pixies, dryads, and nymphs, showing themselves only when they have to save their forests. Unicorns are strongly magical creatures, with most of their abilities coming from their horn. Unicorns are attracted to innocence; particularly young maidens and they have some attraction to the Faerun too. Some young women have even proven themselves to be capable of taming and riding a unicorn as a mount. Only the foolish, however, consider a unicorn to be a dumb animal. It is an intelligent magical beast with vast mystical powers at its disposal. A unicorn is a magical sylvan creature resembling a beautiful white horse. It is easily distinguished from a normal horse as it is infinitely more beautiful, comes in unusual colours and has, of course, a single horn protruding from its forehead. Unicorns are highly prized for the magical properties of their horns and their value as mounts. They can live up to 1,000 years, and show effects of aging only weeks before death. They are able to sense evil nearby, and radiate an aura which protects them from most evil spells. A touch of the unicorn's horn can both heal wounds and cure poison. Unicorns attack primarily by impaling foes on their horns, or with their hooves.

Will-O-Wisp

Will-o’-Wisps, also called will-o’-the-wisps, are malicious Fey creatures often seen floating over lakes or within swamps. They enjoy leading lone travelers off the beaten path at night. As the traveler follows the ghostly light into a dangerous swamp, the will-o’-wisp then extinguishes its light, leaving the traveler lost within a dark swamp where it is easy pray for the wisp or any other malicious creatures. The wisp then feeds on the fear and despair of the lost traveler. Some Will-O-Wisps, however, have shown benevolent qualities, guiding lost travelers home or guiding them to safety. It is unclear whether these are Will-O-Wisps and not some different creature, as they look identical. It is strongly advised, however, that you proceed with caution when dealing with these Fey.
