Age: ??? (Mid-20's at time of death as far as he can tell, six years of unlife)
Appearance: Like most Deadmen, there's no mistaking Sedgewick for a lively fellow. His cropped brown hair reveals a large bite-mark on the right side of his head from when some manner of beast took a bite from his then-dead corpse, and a couple of the creature's friends left similar marks in less immediately visible places (shoulder and stomach, if one really must know). His eyes are a very faded and glazed over grey, and his face seems to have some manner of difficulty managing anything more than slight twitches of annoyance or amusement. To his relief, he seems to have been the thin and wiry sort in life (after all, who needs a bunch of decomposing over-inflated muscles?), and his clothing tends toward the drab and uninteresting. Not like any amount of good fashion sense would hide what he is, after all.
Personality: Sardonic on the best of days, gloomy on the worst, Sedgewick won't be winning any popularity contests or personality awards any time soon. He's prone to sarcastic quips about his condition, in spite of (and occasionally because of) how they tend to make still-living folk uneasy. After all, why should he care? He's already dead, and the odds are good he'll still be kicking after anyone he's offended are worm food. This also means he's relatively hard to rattle; there's little need to get back at someone who's wronged you when time will do the job.
Of course, the problem with never needing to do anything is that it tends to leave a man with little in the way of incentive to do anything. Dismotivated and dispassionate by nature of his existence, Sedgewick finds very little joy in what passes for life nowadays, and his behavior tends towards the impulsive and noncomittal. He does make a concentrated effort to stay on the right side the law though... just because you can't be killed doesn't mean everything you do is consequence-free.
There are things that will shake Sedgewick out of his passive attitude, few of them good, but the most prominent is murder. Life's full of nuance, admittedly, but in general anyone who takes the lives of others in front of him without cause will find a livelier... and deadlier... side to him. Not like everyone gets a second chance, after all.
Affinities: Rot, Bone, Plant
Style: Rot Style: As with most things, Sedgewick likes to take his time in a fight. His affinity for Rot allows him to do just that, racking up smaller blows with his dagger and letting his opponents... just sort of fight themselves out. Even when fighting multiple people, he doesn't see much need to change things up. After all, whoever croaks first can become raw material to help him distract, disable, or otherwise disassemble the others.
Proficiencies: Cinqueda (dagger)
Biography: Not much to tell, since he can't remember anything from before he woke up face-down in a bog. It wasn't long before he realized he was no longer among the technically living, at which point he spent an indeterminate (but probably entirely too-long) amount of time lying face-down in that same bog, struggling to remember whatever he could about his former life or how he got there. And when that failed, he spent another uncertainly long period of time hoping he would return to being entirely dead.
Eventually he came to the conclusion that death just wasn't coming, and he set off hoping to find some clues himself. That didn't quite pan out, but what he did find was a small colony of others like him, trapped in an undead state. He stayed there for several years, discovering and honing the abilities he now possesses today, and learning what little he could of his new condition. He even adopted a new name based on the sedge grass that surrounded him when he first woke up. But as time went on, he realized the company of other Deadmen brought him no lasting sense of purpose or joy.
So he left.
Sedgewick still isn't quite sure what he's looking for in his travels. He no longer yearns to discover who he was before he rose... who he is now is satisfactory enough. Best he can guess is that he's looking for the next way to kill some time. After all, he has so much of that these days.
