Seems to be a trend arising:

Name: Sedgewick
Age: ??? (Mid-20's at time of death as far as he can tell, six years of unlife)
Race: Deadman
Appearance: Like most Deadmen, there's no mistaking Sedgewick for a lively fellow. His cropped brown hair reveals a large bite-mark on the right side of his head from when some manner of beast took a bite from his then-dead corpse, and a couple of the creature's friends left similar marks in less immediately visible places (shoulder and stomach, if one really must know). His eyes are a very faded and glazed over grey, and his face seems to have some manner of difficulty managing anything more than slight twitches of annoyance or amusement. To his relief, he seems to have been the thin and wiry sort in life (after all, who needs a bunch of decomposing over-inflated muscles?), and his clothing tends toward the drab and uninteresting. Not like any amount of good fashion sense would hide what he is, after all.
Personality: Sardonic on the best of days, gloomy on the worst, Sedgewick won't be winning any popularity contests or personality awards any time soon. He's prone to sarcastic quips about his condition, in spite of (and occasionally because of) how they tend to make still-living folk uneasy. After all, why should he care? He's already dead, and the odds are good he'll still be kicking after anyone he's offended are worm food. This also means he's relatively hard to rattle; there's little need to get back at someone who's wronged you when time will do the job.

Of course, the problem with never needing to do anything is that it tends to leave a man with little in the way of incentive to do anything. Dismotivated and dispassionate by nature of his existence, Sedgewick finds very little joy in what passes for life nowadays, and his behavior tends towards the impulsive and noncomittal. He does make a concentrated effort to stay on the right side the law though... just because you can't be killed doesn't mean everything you do is consequence-free.

There are things that will shake Sedgewick out of his passive attitude, few of them good, but the most prominent is murder. Life's full of nuance, admittedly, but in general anyone who takes the lives of others in front of him without cause will find a livelier... and deadlier... side to him. Not like everyone gets a second chance, after all.
Affinities: Rot, Bone, Plant
Style: Rot Style: As with most things, Sedgewick likes to take his time in a fight. His affinity for Rot allows him to do just that, racking up smaller blows with his dagger and letting his opponents... just sort of fight themselves out. Even when fighting multiple people, he doesn't see much need to change things up. After all, whoever croaks first can become raw material to help him distract, disable, or otherwise disassemble the others.
Proficiencies: Cinqueda (dagger)
Biography: Not much to tell, since he can't remember anything from before he woke up face-down in a bog. It wasn't long before he realized he was no longer among the technically living, at which point he spent an indeterminate (but probably entirely too-long) amount of time lying face-down in that same bog, struggling to remember whatever he could about his former life or how he got there. And when that failed, he spent another uncertainly long period of time hoping he would return to being entirely dead.

Eventually he came to the conclusion that death just wasn't coming, and he set off hoping to find some clues himself. That didn't quite pan out, but what he did find was a small colony of others like him, trapped in an undead state. He stayed there for several years, discovering and honing the abilities he now possesses today, and learning what little he could of his new condition. He even adopted a new name based on the sedge grass that surrounded him when he first woke up. But as time went on, he realized the company of other Deadmen brought him no lasting sense of purpose or joy.

So he left.

Sedgewick still isn't quite sure what he's looking for in his travels. He no longer yearns to discover who he was before he rose... who he is now is satisfactory enough. Best he can guess is that he's looking for the next way to kill some time. After all, he has so much of that these days.

Hello all! I wanted to share another update with everyone as we near CS completion, just something to think about in further elaboration of the initial prompt so you can wrap your heads around it.

You will all be in a queue awaiting approval from customs and the guards before you can enter the city. The pace can be called glacial, if you feel like insulting glaciers. To hasten the process you have been informed that the queue will be handled in chunks, with every 6 or 7 people being lumped together immediately into a group. The lot of you have as such been lumped together this way since morning, at a standstill for half-hours at a time.

There are a few structures and oddities that catch your eye, outside of the group you’re in. A large network of tents and ramshackle structures have been set up nearby - people who have a prolonged cause to wait for entry to the city. Nearby there is also a caravan of deserters who have ringed up their wagons and unloaded wares onto rugs and below extended awnings with the idea, of course, that you don’t have to worry about declaring anything to the customs official if you sell it off to other travelers beforehand.

Some other travelers have decided to sell food out of wagons as they wait. A wagon of aquacians is in the group behind you, a family selling foodstuff native to their lands.

And of course, there are the lot of you. Surely, with the pace of the queue, a few of you could leave the line without losing your space in it. But there’s definitely time to converse with each other before your group is called.

Think about what you want to do and what catches the attentions of your characters and try not to split up too much. Other than that, I hope this gives you all a framework for how you’ll want to write your first post once the IC is up!

Name: Brighteyes
Age: 19
Race: Hedonian
Appearance: Brighteyes is a rabbit satyr-like girl. She has cream fur-covered legs and large feet ending in four long, clawed toes. Her torso is much more human-like, aside from fluffy patches of fur on her chest and elbows. Her tall rabbit ears extend far above her head and are decorated with three piercings each. She has long, thick cream colored hair usually tied up in some way. Her skin is tan and lightly freckled and her big, light blue eyes stand out against an otherwise earthy, neutral pallet. As far as clothing goes, she’s not afraid to show off some skin (and fur!) preferring outfits that are both cute and easy to move around in. She also carries around a potted orchid plant that she can often be seen tending to.
Image
Personality: Brighteyes is a sweet, bubbly, and curious young lady. That’s not to say she doesn’t come with some sass though! She tries her best to approach new people politely and with respect, helps those in need if she can, and prefers making friends over foes. Her kindness and age may lead people to believe she’s naive, and maybe she is! But she’ll view any moment of ignorance as an opportunity to learn. As nice and tolerant as she may be, she doesn’t appreciate rudeness or cruelty. Even the sweetest bunnies will attack if provoked!

Just like any other Hedonian, a fullmoon makes her a bit..moody. Which emotion she’ll be feeling is pretty unpredictable but if anything’s for sure it’s that she’ll be very much EXTRA.

Affinities: Plant, Beast, and Light

Styles or Profession: Whisperer: Charm and Intimidate

Proficiencies: Lepus Assault Greaves

Biography: Brighteyes grew up in Hedonia. She lived a pretty normal and generally peaceful life. She went to school like any other kid, learned to respect and care for plants from her grove-tending parents, and even learned a bit of physical self defense, taking advantage of her strong rabbit-like legs. Her love for the nature around her is what led her to become a whisperer, leaving the kicking as more of a last resort.

While she has always been happy with her life and her home she couldn’t help but be curious of what else was out there. There’s a lot more to see, new types of people to meet and learn from. So with permission from her parents, given reluctantly of course, Brighteyes set out on her little adventure!

Name: Morgan
Age: 27
Race: Human
Appearance: Picture. Morgan's hair sits in a comfortable and loose mess. He has several piercings in one of his ears, as well as a few unfortunate scars in each of them. His mouth often sits in a notably crooked smile. His eyes are a warm chocolate brown. He often wears a long necklace, with a clay disk resting on the end like a charm. His outfits are usually functionally flowing outfits, as though he is attempting to be a romantic pirate.
Personality: Morgan is a man who tries to enjoy as much of his time as he can, willing to invite friends and guests into his home and always ready to make a hearty meal for anyone who will eat it. He takes pride in his cooking and says that your actions reflect you. He believes life is hard enough on those who live it as is and is less than willing to allow bullies to prosper if he happens across them.
Affinities: Earth, Wind, Ice
Styles: Force, Intimidate
Proficiencies: Cook's Tools
Biography: Morgan's life wasn't necessarily a hard one and the disappointment only began later into it. His dreams and that of his families diverged at some point, them wishing for him to become a prominent whisperer, where as he seeked to become a prominent chef. He finds himself behind many of the other skilled beings in his field of expertise and has recently started to try and make strides to not only catch up, but cut away at the gap that they have created with simple skill. He has made recent trips into the Charlands and Hedonian Jungles in search of rare ingredients that would help him make a name for himself. He met one of most treasured friends on these trips and together the two of them work a food cart, hoping to make enough money from the endeavor to open an actual restaurant.

So in the initial OOC post, I did tell everyone that I wanted to see at least one post per week from all involved. I recognize that real life can get in the way, and have been very fair in... stretching that.

However, I have since sent reminders to everyone still involved that posts need to be made if this RP is to continue running. Nothing has happened. So here's what I need to ask, and I want everyone involved to seriously consider this:

Are you able to output 1 post per week in this RP? If the answer is 'no', then I am going to have to ask if you actually wish to continue with the RP because I think the RP and those who still maintain interest would be better served if a more active poster was able to take part.

Yes, I can. I won't remember to do so inherently, but I can set alarms to remind myself and it'll work.
