"RPCO's Author Games", or "Writer Games", or "Story", whatever, some variant.
A sort of structured take on the Hunger Games. Everyone joins up and enters then gets randomized into a bracket structure where they get paired up against either one other person (or more, if needed) to compete for "survival". Each "round" consists of a different writing prompt/scenario/styles that should get more and more intense as the rounds go on. The two competitors will each take their spin on writing a piece and will be judged thereafter. Maybe even require the combatants to work together from time to time to make a joint story like the Sync or Swim competition to really throw a wrench into things. Judges will determine who "wins" each round and "survives" to go on to the next. Maybe there could be a "competitors vote on their own champion" and have the people participating select who wins -- excluding themselves and towards the end, of course. At the end, whoever remains is crowned Victor of the Games!
Idk. I can see this being a recurring challenge but if not... ooooh.. let's say 12 people signed up.. maths
EDIT: This game (and each game thereafter) could be themed after a specific terrain/environment, and so perhaps the gamemasters can come up with different scenarios that are inspired/revolve around that particular environment?
EXAMPLE: The games take place in a desert
- Prompts: Sun, Drought, Mirage
- Larger Prompt: "Discovering paradise in a forbidden place", "If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen", etc.
Should also be a twist in each round. Some sort of "challenge" they each need to hurdle. Not only is the terrain dangerous in Hunger Games, but so are the threats they add in. You could be done in either by your opponent, the theme, or the obstacle.
