[Challenge] Tri-to-Readathon

The wait for the 2019 RPC reading challenge is over.

For the past few years, RPC has promoted a 52 Week, 52 Book challenge. While this mode of tracking reading progress is engaging and a great time (if you haven’t attempted it, I seriously recommend giving it a go), not all of us have the time to read a book a week. Thus, the idea for the Tri-to-Readathon was born.

With March almost over, we are left with 9 months in 2019, which some of you more arithmetic minded folks might realize divides nicely into three groups of three.

Each grouping of three months will function as a new readathon or “phase.” The basic goal will simply be to read as much as possible within the three-month time-period and track your progress. You are welcome to create your own goals too! The sky's the limit. The best part? At the beginning of every phase, the counter resets. A blank slate, just for you, to set your own goals and start anew.

Each “phase” will have an optional group genre, but reading from that genre is not necessary. Doesn’t catch your interest? Pass it by and maybe the next phase’s genre will be more your style.

You can participate in a number of ways. You can create one central posting with a list of the books you’ve read, write up your goals for the three months, make a TBR, share periodic update posts with gripes and successes, make a separate thread altogether documenting your journey, throw together one concluding post at the end of the readathon, or something else entirely. It’s up to you! All we ask is that you drop us a line letting us know you’re participating so that we can all root each other on.

No pressure. No enormous commitment. Just exploring the books that interest you and dedicating some time to reading.

So. Are you in?

PHASE ONE: April 1-June 30
Group Genre: Nonfiction

PHASE TWO: July 1-September 30
Group Genre: Science Fiction

PHASE THREE: October 1-December 31
Group Genre: Magical Realism

4/22- Woo~
5/1- I have a more clear TBR set than this one, I'm just too exceedingly lazy to type it up. But it's there! And I shall finish it.
