Because I'm completely ADD I still haven't finished The Last Wish, despite enjoying it (That and assignment stuff) But now I'm on to Grief is the Thing With Feathers (By the Emperor, I feel like a pretentious git just typing the title) A book which I have to review for my course, the book itself isn't actually the high brow crud I thought it might be. It's...different, though: formatted a bit like a poetry book which was weird at first. It's not really my thing, but that's sorta the point of my course to branch out and read stuff I normally wouldn't.

Just started in on Malka Older's 'Null States'. I'm only three chapters in, and it's not quite as immediately arresting as Dreamships was, but it's keeping me turning the pages thus far and it seems like the kind of science fiction you three might be into. It's even got a flavour of something like our own 20XX.

You've caught me between books, so I might. How necessary is it to read Infomocracy first?

I have no clue, I haven't read it.

As an aside, the book also features a lot of female characters and characters of colour, which is always a plus in my book.

I'll have to check that out.

Currently reading the Spells, Swords and Stealth books which are a bit silly and not particularly well written but nonetheless enjoyable.

Bit of non-fiction tackled, and back to This Savage Song to get it out of the way before I pick up anything else.

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.

I think he's very good at creating interesting settings but his writing itself doesn't do a great deal for me really. It's not bad, I've definitely read far worse this year and enjoyed them regardless... I just don't think he's as good a writer as everyone makes out. Maybe one for the Unpopular Opinions thread.

Everyday Sexism - Laura Bates

I'm only a third of the way through but I've already convinced two male friends to read it. Honestly, I think everyone should.

Still this. Though I'm doubling up with Jodi Taylor's latest book just because the former gets me so worked up that I think it's best tackled in small chunks. :xeyes:

Just finished an awful book that was either:

A) A dreadful translation
B) a crap book full stop or
C) Both of the above.

Back to a few chapters of Everyday Sexism before the first Book of Dust comes out tomorrow!
