Can There Be Peace?

Post by tashathewolf » Sat Sep 29, 2018 12:28 pm

Is it possible for peace to exist between races that have fought for centuries? Breed to hate, feed, and kill each other since the beginning of time? But without war, there cannot be peace and vice versa. In this modern world, four top families from each race have decided to start a peace treaty. Something no one saw coming. Only a few embrace it, while the others fight it. Therefore, the heads of each family in charge of their race's clans (human, vampire, werewolf, and half breeds) have entrusted their children, or heir, to help uphold this treaty. Or at least act as the face of a new age that they know can be obtained. Or at least they can say they tried to uphold. But do not be fooled. War always lurks around the corner no matter what. Never resting, for as long as there is peace there will always be a war. And in every family there is always someone who will try to take control and overthrow another.

For this story, I want it to be something that continues to grow. With plots being formed by everyone should they so chose. This story will follow the top four families' heirs as they continue in the new age of peace. Some become friends, some enemies, and some betrothed? It all depends on the interactions of each individual. There will be four top families, one from each race:
The Windsor Family - head of the humans and witches
The Dracul Family - head family of the vampires and direct descendants of the vampiric royal linage
The Gilga Family- head of the werewolves and direct descendants of the first clan leaders
The Shadow Family - head of the half breeds and houses strong connections to the first race of half breeds created

Each family has branches from their main house that trickle into their individual families. You may make more than one character for a specific family or a sub branch. [The sub family's last name is based on your decision.] Top families are allowed to have siblings should multiple people wish to be part of the same high class family. The story will start off with each family meeting at a treaty party to re-introduce the heirs to one another. From there, they will be required to attend school together (which means carpooling) and various other activities decided by the heads of the families. This is to test how well each heir gets along and interacts. Along the way there will be troubles either within one another's family, with another heir, or even an outside party. I know this does not seem as well organized as my others, but I wanted to try something different with this RP.
My rules are generally the same as usual:
Be respectful
Play nice
Follow Mod rules
No God-moding

Character Sheet
Name: Alessa Dracul
Race: Pure blood vampire
Age: 150 (appears 21)
Gender: Female
Appearance
Family: Dracul Family
Abilities: Mind reading, Control over blood lust, strength, and basic hand-to-hand combat
Personality: Quiet, observant, compassionate, and kind; Alessa can come off a bit as closed off and distant. She tends to keep people closed off from her until they have earned her trust. A trust she does not hand out lightly. Some say she is combination of her parents and grandparents personality. Minus the uncontrollable rage of her grandfather who detested humans and werewolves. Alessa wants there to be peace, but also knows the realization that this is not everyone's goal. Therefore, causing her to be hesitant in trusting others. Especially being the sole successor of the Dracul family.
Background: Alessa is the the only child of her father, Aaron Dracul, the current head of the Dracul family. Being a part of the highest ranked families of the vampire community can be both a blessing and a curse. For Alessa in particular, during this new age of so called "peace" things have never been more intense. As the raising heir to the family line, she must uphold not only the family name but the pride of the vampires as well. Her childhood was something almost as similar as a normal human child. A loving home with supporting parents who provided for the family. In fact, one would say she is one of the most humble royals out there in the world. However, being the very family of the king of vampires is not always as cracked up to be as one would think. Especially with her being the only child, it is imperative that she succeed her father. In addition of this, with the loss of her mother, Bella, Alessa has become quite standoffish. Her mother, and countless others from the other top families, died fighting for this peace treaty. Something they believed their children would help to push forward and uphold. Alessa is slow to trust others not because she believes they can harm her but because sometimes it is those people you put the most faith into that end up becoming your greatest weakness.
Relatives: Aaron Dracul, Alessa's father and current head of the Dracul family.

Had a couple different ideas while I was starting. Pretty happy with it.

Name: Claus Windsor
Race: Human
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Street
Image
Casual
Image
Family: Windsor Family

Abilities: linguist, sorcery focused on water and air elements, otherworldly pact, tinkerer

Personality: Socially obtuse, Claus sticks out like a sore thumb in most crowds. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind even if he’s perceived as rude or insensitive. Due to his lack of social awareness, he’ll strike up a conversation with just about anybody whether they be the rich noble visiting the Windsor estate or the crackhead on NW Pearl St. Observers are quick to notice his intelligence but perceive a lack of drive and determination seen in his family members, never realizing that the awkward Windsor son has his own goals.

Background: Claus is the third born of Elias and Maya Windsor. Claus and his siblings lived a life of wealth, having access to the best tutors and luxuries money could buy. Unlike his siblings who recognized the responsibilities that came with the Windsor name and worked to build their status, Claus grew up with his head in the clouds. As his brother and sister learned the magical arts, the youngest Windsor shirked his studios and ventured frequently outside the estate, doing whatever he wanted. Claus couldn’t care less about acting like royalty. He’d always have the love of his parents, but to the lessor Windor household, Claus was a black sheep.
Claus was perfectly fine fading from the family spot light, but life has a funny way of throwing curve balls. Two years ago, Claus’s oldest brother and heir to the Windsor household, Killean, vanished during the night. No note, no blood, no body, nothing. Search parties were formed, suspects were questioned, the underbelly of the sorcery world combed, there were numerous possibilities and everyone had a theory but not a soul knew where he was.
Elias always held on to hope that one day his firstborn would be found. All the same, they couldn’t postpone the future. Succession in the Windsor family is based on gender and not age. To the frustration of many, the next heir would be Claus and not his older sister, Beatrix. The leadership and responsibilities he had wanted so much to avoid where now being thrust upon him at a pace he wasn’t ready for.

Unbeknownst to his family, Claus had made a very impulsive decision months prior. In a desperate effort to find his brother, he turned towards the darker parts of his family’s legacy. In the dark depths of their library behind locked doors were the forbidden tomes, passed down through countless generations. They were strictly banned for modern use and were archived for only the direst of situations. It was here were Claus took the foolish step from amateur sorcerer to warlock, forming a pact with a forgotten entity, or a “demon” as common folk called them. The unseen deity would aid Claus in his endeavors to find his brother. In return,,, the entity didn’t say. Claus has kept this secret in fear others would think him compromised and overthrow the family.

Thank you. I had a solid idea of what I wanted the character to be, but I had some inspiration and changed it up a bit last second.

I changed the name of Claus's sister. Just realized that Annabelle and Bella were too similar in name. Post should be up soon.
